I read a while back on a blog (can't remember which one right now, though I think it was Karen Pryor's or Patricia McConnell's...) that dogs will pick other dogs they like to play with, and the bond of play lasts their whole lives. I definitely see this in Napoleon and Thor. Neither will play with every foster or other dog they meet, but they play with each other EVERY day.
It's really cute to watch and still makes me smile. I remember when we brought Thor home and they ran around the yard together. So happy that 4 years later, they still have just as much fun!

You take great shots! And our little boy loves his first "girl" friend Layla, the Mastiff who weighed more than 10x him. She was as lazy as they come, but would take time out of her "busy" day, every day to play with him a little on the floor!

That reminds me of mine an my moms doxies . I swear my moms doxie asked me get her a baby puppy doxie . I baught me one almost a year ago . She has played with lola ever since she only dog that moms hedi can play with out wanting eat the dog cause she trys attack my brothers dogs an my sisters cocker spanial an her pom mix .Its funny but lola is a red pie bald an hedi is black an tan an lola gets an oh boyohboy aunt hedi look . It kinda funny my black an tan older female did same thing hedi was her puppy but wldnt play with other dogs .have an aunt who raised em an she said they tend be clickish with who they like an who they dont.
Sasha, the wiener dog here. Silly humans. We dog have "fursonalities" and we try to find BFF that will go with our own interests like sniffing, digging, rolling in bird poo, trash can tipping, etc. We love to have fun, but it is always great to fing the one that you can really rock and roll with.

That so reminds me of my two but much more quiet!! I can't believe it! Ours get going and my husband and I can't have a conversation over the "talking" and growling! What do you feed them? I'm having a really hard time with my oldest, 1.5 yrs, she is really active but still isn't losing weight and we've cut her food way back.

My dog definetly is selective with her play partners. My Mom has three dogs at her house and Jersey will only really play with one of them while pretty much ignoring the other two dogs.
