Ike has never been a big fan of winter. Or clothing to keep himself warm in the winter. But this year, we decided that in order to keep up with his walking and exercise regimen...and to keep up with playing with us outside...that a change was in order. I went shopping for boots!
Did you know that they seriously sell dog boots out there that are like $60!? More expensive than some human boots!? Don't get me wrong -- they are so freaking adorable. And if he were a much larger dog that went on seriously long hikes with me or something, I may think about it. We just needed something simpler for a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute frolick in the back yard. My dog does NOT need serious treads on his feet. So we just spent $15 instead (would you guess that I had to buy an XXXS?? YEP, I DID. They fit on and are nice and snug!). With strong velcro so he couldn't pull them off easily. Because that's how I roll. I make him suffer. HA! You'd think so the way he acts about them...I had to bribe him with a massive treat to get his Fido Fleece (size 12 if you're curious) and new boots on!
I took a short little video for you to enjoy...His first scamper in the snow with his new boots. We stayed out for about 10 minutes total. Versus the 3 minutes he would tolerate earlier in the morning. I thought that boots were a bit much...But I definitely believe they are worth it now!

Oh my goodness, that is absolutely adorable! I got my mini a coat too for this winter. At first he hated it, but now he won't go outside without it.

You know, I'm not sure what brand they are. They are just some cheap ones I got at the local bet store. Probably cost me $15 tops.

I agree with you about those $60 boots. They're almost too cool to actually use. I'd rather hang them from the rear view mirror. It's for that reason that I designed and now sell my own line of dog boots. www.woofhoofs.com. They're still cool, they're comfy, and they stay on. And they're only $25 bucks.
How freaking adorable is he?? I have to buy some boots for my mini now...she hates going outside in the cold...
