The company I work for closes in December every year so I don’t have much say in when I take leave, well, unless I want to go sit in the office with nothing going on. And with the holiday spirit that comes with the month it wouldn't be much fun would it?It’s usually around this time of the year when I’d start making plans, booking accommodation and doing all the stuff that goes with arranging a holiday away from home.
This year will be this first year in many that I won’t be going to the coast. I always make it a point to go at least once a year as it’s about an eight hour drive and we couldn’t make that drive over a weekend.
Take last year for example. It was the first December that we had Lila and Rusty, the plans had been made ages before we got them so with much stressing and fretting we decided a kennel was the best way to go. Those two weeks were terrible. I was worried about them the whole time and I couldn’t wait to get home.
You may recall my post after we picked them up from a kennel.
After that, I told J that never again would I leave them with people they don’t know. It’s my responsibility to make sure they’re happy, healthy and safe. And leaving them at the kennel, I feel that they weren’t happy and they weren’t healthy (the first few days they didn't eat and they lost a lot of weight).
So this year we’re staying home for the holidays. And I don’t even mind. I already have fun outings in mind to keep us all occupied.

What a positive way to look at things! Love the pic... of course, I could look at doxie's all day long!!
My mama and papa take me on lots of vacations too... after all it is kind of hard to find someone who will express my bladder and bowels!! eeks! And my mama would just worry anyways.. so yippee! I always get to go on vacation!

We're doing our first joint vacation at the end of July. We're trying to mentally prepare already.
